Acne Studios par Frédéric Malle

Acne Studios and Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle converge at the crossroads of fashion, perfumery, and art. Since their inception, both brands have been driven by a quest to craft a radically new aesthetic. Drawing inspiration from photography, architecture, culture, and design, they infuse these creative elements into everything they produce—from boutiques and clothing to fragrances and bottles. Frédéric Malle and Jonny Johansson, the founder and creative director of Acne Studios, have consistently pursued alternative paths, embracing a multidisciplinary vision and an unwavering commitment to absolute creative freedom. This shared philosophy has led to a distinctive collaboration: Acne Studios by Frédéric Malle.

Acne Studios

Founded in Stockholm in 1996, Acne Studios has become a unique force in fashion, known for its multidisciplinary creativity. Jonny Johansson, its founder and creative director, was influenced by music and art from a young age. Initially a musician, he transitioned to fashion, bringing an experimental and practical approach inspired by his personal experiences and artistic interests.

Acne Studios started with bold, unisex denim styles, quickly expanding to include clothing and accessories known for timeless design, precise cuts, and exquisite details. The brand represents a progressive philosophy where functionality meets eclecticism.

Frédéric Malle, inspired by Acne Studios' aesthetic, collaborated with Suzy Le Helley to create a neoclassical perfume. This fragrance is both vibrant and comforting, capturing the essence of Acne Studios.

Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle

Founded in 2000, Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle was created to restore perfumery to its former glory. Frédéric Malle, with over thirty years of experience, guides the world's greatest perfumers by giving them complete creative freedom, exceptional raw materials, and no constraints on time, budget, or marketing.

Born into the world of perfume, Malle is a leading expert and unconventional aesthete. He empowers perfumers to develop their own style and achieve their finest work, resulting in masterpieces from each collaboration. This approach yields an eclectic range of perfumes that embrace diverse styles and olfactory families, revolutionizing classics with a modern twist and venturing into new territories.

Suzy Le Helley

Suzy Le Helley is a perfumer trained at ISIPCA and Symrise Perfumery School. Mentored by master perfumers Annick Ménardo and Maurice Roucel, she now works at Symrise. Inspired by the diversity of plants and natural raw materials, Suzy also values synthetic materials, enhancing her creative range. She prefers short, precise formulas that convey a clear message, blending technical mastery with aesthetic and emotional impact.

Frédéric Malle found a kindred spirit in Suzy, who constructs new olfactory forms from familiar materials. They focus on aldehydes, synthetic components that add a fresh, dazzling quality to perfumes. Together, they combine functional and rich materials to create exceptional fragrances, aligning with the daring irreverence of Acne Studios.

The Perfume

A perfectly crafted creation, the perfume exudes a singular allure. Aldehydes form the backbone, starting with a pure, crystalline breath that develops into a radiant glow. Floral notes of rose, violet, and luminous orange blossom add classicism, while a hint of incense provides mineral freshness. Vanilla, creamy sandalwood, and peach skin offer a subtle softness, complemented by white musk, creating a comforting, tactile sensation. This harmonious blend captures the essence of Acne Studios by Frédéric Malle.
