Maison Crivelli Presents Oud Stallion
Maison Crivelli presents its fifth perfume extract, Oud Stallion, developed in collaboration with perfumer Jordi Fernandez. For this latest opus, Thibaud Crivelli was inspired by the striking memory of smelling oud while attending a horse race. Oud Stallion revisits this key ingredient in Haute Parfumerie by contrasting the depth and elegance of oud with an alluring, smoky leather accord.
Purebred saffron, cardamom mane, nutmeg stirrup, spicy reins. In the saddle: oud stallion, animalic rose. Under starter’s orders… Stride: cedar acceleration, patchouli fence, tonka turn. A leather, woody, smoky gallop!
Olfactory Experience
Oud Stallion opens with a spicy accord built around high-quality cardamom and nutmeg. This duo is reinforced by the sensual facet of a Givaudan captive molecule (Safraleine) with saffron, leather and woody inflections. The heart of the perfume is defined by a faceted floral accord composed of rose and geranium essential oils, as well as osmanthus and jasmine absolutes. It brings richness and brightness to the scent. The creation's base notes are complex and very deep. Its core ingredients form a beautiful oud and leather accord. Guaiac wood, as well as a combination of cedar and patchouli essential oils, give the perfume its smokiness. Meanwhile, tonka bean and cistus bring fullness and prolong the floral accord while adding a comforting quality to the smoky dry down.
The Founder's Experience
“To create Oud Stallion, I took inspiration from several personal memories of smelling oud wood while attending horse races. A horse race is a very special experience. From the grandstands, you can feel that the horses and the jockeys are in perfect symbiosis, and you are captivated by the energy and excitement of the crowd - which is unlike anything else. I remember feeling my heartbeat follow the explosive start of the race. I remember seeing the branches of the trees along the track mingle with the sky as the horses were jumping over wooden fences and increasing their speed. I also remember breathing in the scents of oud wood and leather in the warm summer air. Oud Stallion is an acceleration of the senses, it is a carnal bond, embodied in a unique perfume on a finishing line." - Thibaud Crivelli

Oud Stallion is mainly composed of ORPUR® "grand cru" raw materials: rose absolute from Turkey, geranium absolute from Egypt, osmanthus absolute from China, cypriol oil from India, pink peppercorn CO2, jasmine absolute from Upper Egypt, olibanum oil from Somalia, cardamom absolute from India, patchouli oil from Indonesia, cedarwood oil from Morocco and cistus absolute from Spain.

The Givaudan captives used in the creation of Oud Stallion guarantee the singularity of this perfume extract. Safraleine has a very unique, warm and vibrant character, thanks to its leather and tobacco facets, offering a new alternative to existing spicy ingredients.
