Maison Crivelli presents its fourth perfume extract, Oud Maracujá, developed in collaboration with perfumer Jordi Fernandez. For this latest opus, Thibaud Crivelli was inspired by a personal event, the moment he discovered oud, during which he experienced a powerful, surprising, and intense shock to the senses. Oud Maracujá revisits this key ingredient in Haute Parfumerie by contrasting the depth and elegance of oud with a unique, luminous passion fruit accord.
OLFACTORY EXPERIENCE
Oud Maracujá opens with a fruity, luminous accord that features bright, exotic accents of passion fruit and ebelia (blackcurrant). The radiance of the top notes is accentuated by saffron, which provides a sensual, spicy twist, as well as Turkish rose absolute, which completes the accord with its fruity, honeyed, full-bodied qualities.
The heart is defined by the power and complexity of an oud wood accord and its deep, voluptuous nuances. This woody oud facet is enhanced by the earthy notes of Indonesian patchouli, while the extraordinary softness of benzoin from Laos contributes to its well-rounded feel.
The creation's base notes revolve around leather, incense, an amber vanilla and labdanum accord, and a touch of akigalawood that reinforces the power and long-lasting wear of the fragrance.
THE FOUNDER'S EXPERIENCE
"That day, the temperature was at its highest. The air was heavy with humidity; the sun was glowing red in the sky and quietly setting. We had traveled several kilometers before stopping in a remote village, composed of huts on stilts with wooden walls and copper-colored roofs.
I remember sitting down inside a building. A man approached me and started burning wood chips. I quenched my thirst with some sweet, bright, fruity passion fruit juice. We were suddenly bathed in sunlight as it grazed the earth.
Little by little, the smoke spread throughout the room. Powerful, deep, noble, rich, and contrasting with this radiant, thirst-quenching fruit. Oud Maracujá."
